First American Woman's Organization Meeting
Today I went to my first coffee for the AWO. I took the metro and am happy to say didn't have any issues finding my way. Aside from daily activities (like lunches, scrabble, bunko, knitting group, book clubs, walking groups, tennis, etc.) they have coffee meetings three times a month at the Hard Rock Cafe on Old Arbat. Old Arbat is a great pedestrian street with tons of shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and two Starbucks! Twice a month at these coffee's they have speakers and the other coffee is an informal chat for new members. I've met some great gals and can see myself staying very busy! The group seems to be very close knit and everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Several of the gals stay for lunch afterwards which was fun and I got a lot of "new to Moscow advice". I guess it's true when they say the harder the place to live, the better the expat groups!

Hm, that's interesting. Good for you! I usually say, "the harder a dept is to work in, the more likely you are to blow your brains out".
