One of the biggest challenges expats face in each new country is getting used to grocery shopping. The women in the AWO group were extremely helpful in explaining what to buy and which stores and brands were the best. You’d be surprised at the amount of time that is spent talking about grocery shopping during our meetings! The most common question for newbies is “Can I get _______ here”? I thought it would be fun to take a few pics of some common Russian food items I buy here. Click on View Full Album and then click on each picture to read about it!
VERY INTERESTING! Thanks for posting this. How is that mayo? Looks more "user friendly" than the U.S. packaging.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are totally awesome. I realize how spoiled I am - I was trying to figure out last week if the oats were "quick" or "rolled" - but at least I knew they were oats!
ReplyDeleteWe have a mix of German and French, so I get a taste of two kinds of confusion.
You definitely get bonus points for the challenges!
