Why it's important to be able to read that darn Russian language...
Today they turned off our hot water. When we moved in, our landlord explained that sometime between May and August the city turns off the hot water for 2-3 weeks. It happens every year and it's not the same time every year. No consistency here in Russia! Apartments have separate individual water heaters just for this special annual occasion. I did notice a sign posted downstairs by the elevator for the last couple of days but didn't have a clue what it said. Think it said they were turning off the hot water May 14th! I sent our landlord an email so he'd come over and switch our hot water on. Hopefully it's sooner, rather than later! Poor Darron is going to have to take a cold shower in the morning before work! I went downstairs to take a picture of the sign but it's already gone.

I wonder if anybody thinks it could be a good strategy not to take a shower during the 2 weeks we have the internal auditors here in Russia? Just wondering....From the "Her Husband".
ReplyDeleteDo you have a lobster pot for heating water on the stove in the meantime?
ReplyDeleteHave your heard of a product called "Pssst"?
ReplyDeleteIt is a can of spray that is called shampoo in a can...It freshens the hair on days when you can't shower! I am not sure one can would last for two weeks...
Get that lobster pot out and start boiling!!
Thanks Expatresse and Jojo, Julz, and Jules!I've tried to contact you through your blogs but am not sure how. Can I have your email addresses? Our landlord did come Sat. and turn on our temporary hot water but it's barely lukewarm. UGH! I've been going to a friends house to shower but my husband has been braving the cold shower.
